I haven’t posted in a long time because of all the horrors crossing my television and my social media for the last two weeks. It has been heartbreaking, painful and traumatizing – but one thing is certain.
Something has to change.
I can not sit on the sidelines and say nothing when people are dying.
I can not stay silent while the blood of innocents rises up from the ground.
I don’t have much, but I do have this:
The ability to boycott. The ability to protest against the fear that a nation of beleaguered innocents face on a daily basis.
I will protest against this fear not just on behalf of others, but for myself and my children.
This is America, and all people have the right to live without flinching at the blink of flashing blue and red lights.
Others are mobilizing.
I am merely joining the fight.
