So, today is day 3 of my NaNoWriMo binge. The coffee shots in my white chocolate mocha, whip cream and caramel espressos have either stopped working, or I just need to take more shots. Probably more shots. More is better.
I’m experiencing a slight run off of energy. Not large, mind you, but it’s there. Yesterday I completed my word count at 5,065 words for the day. Today I’m at a word count of 2,577. Along with my word count on the first day of 2,552 words, my word count for the three days is a grand total of 10,194 words.
And–I don’t know if anyone has noticed this–I’ve had to up the limit on the word count for the book for the third time >.>
It went from 110k–>115k–>120k… and I’m unsure that I’ll be completely finished with The Dragon Throne in only another 4,000 words.
But no sweat. The scenes I’m writing are scenes I’ve had in my head for the last 3 or 4 years, and the words have been flowing like melting butter on a Parmesan bread-stick.
And now I’m hungry.
But hunger is for the weak, so I push on!
I really hope this novel will be done in 4k words, but the last thing I want is for the ending to feel rushed after so many years struggling to finish the darn thing.
So I type on. Hopefully, this flood of words doesn’t let up.
Wish me luck.
