The Dragon's Call audiobook

I was delighted to discover that The Dragon’s Call Audiobook just received an amazingly thorough review! Check it out HERE.

Meanwhile, the reviewer notes that the sequel has been long delayed.

I have to apologize to those who have taken the time to read Cecily and Derek’s story. As the reviewer notes, I did experience a several personal tragedies while writing the sequel: my father passed, I experienced two separate miscarriages, then my husband passed during the writing of this story.

As a result it has taken a long time to stabilize and the word count has suffered as a result.

Derek and Cecily’s tale is still a work in progress though the actual writing process has been hampered.

The sequel to The Dragon’s Call will be named The Dragon Throne and, while the first half of the sequel is complete, the second half is still in the process of completion.

Nonetheless, it is always a wonderful boost when readers enjoy the story, and definitely helps boost the writing process forward.

I thank those who have read this story so much for their continued support along with the notes I have received from those who can’t wait to find out what happens to Derek and Cecily.

Poems, Lyrics, Psalmos: Wooing Muse

With only 5 days left to the Poems, Lyrics, Psalmos: Wooing Muse Book Launch event, and a WHOOOOLLLEEE lot more editing and recording needed for the audio book, I realized – I needed more time!

So, because I would like the book launch event and the audio book debut to be fairly close together, I’ve pushed back the date of the event, and extended the date of the giveaway until 7/11/15. This will give me enough time to get the audio completed and out by the time the event occurs ^.^

Wish me luck , pick up a limited-time FREE COPY of the book, and make sure to check out and sign up for the giveaway below!

Research, research, research!

Tuesday, May 19th, 2015

So, now that the process for publishing Poems, Lyrics, Psalmos: Wooing Muse is completed, and all that awaits is the Big Event, I’ve gotten back into the groove of researching background info for completing Dragon Kin

I’ve come across a lot of interesting information while I’ve been expanding my own understanding of how cultures, mythology, geography, and cultural mixing can effect our contemporary fantasy tales. The video posted above is the first of a six part series discussing Celtic culture and beliefs. Celtic Daily Life is another excellent example of easy-to-read resources on Celtic culture. I read the tiny book within a span of 4-5 hours.

One particular fact I discovered while researching the background on the Celtic goddess Danu, was that her part, at least, in Celtic religion had ties to ancient Hinduism.

This was interesting because, while I had hoped to be able to connect some of the mythology utilized in The Dragon’s Call and Dragon Kin with that of Assyrian and Babylonian religious and mythological tales, I wasn’t certain I would be able to find anything to validate utilizing their mythology. Needless to say, I’m excited and can’t wait to read more of the history of the Celts and any additional outside religious influences their culture might have experienced through time.

While I’m delving back into research and getting my Muse revved up to complete Dragon Kin, I’m completing the recording process for the audio verson of Poems, Lyrics, Psalmos: Wooing MuseThe Big Event is just 11 days away and the countdown continues.

Wish me luck and make sure to check out the giveaway below ^.^

Ella’s Cinders

Tuesday, April 21st, 2015

I’ve completed the third poem in Poems, Lyrics, and Psalmos!

It’s up for listening HERE.

I have to say, I’m pretty exhausted. There’s only one way to record anything at all when you have a toddler. In the middle of the night, when she’s asleep. If you’re lucky.

I was only semi-lucky tonight: around 12:30am she decided to finally go to bed after a small snafoo involving a malfunctioning night-light and her already existent fear of the dark.

I don’t know why toddlers are scared of the dark – what could she possibly be afraid of? Bottle-snatchers?

Anyways! If you are unable to hear Ella’s Cinders, please let me know! Thoughts and criticism are always welcome ^.^

And here’s the cover of Poems, Lyrics, Psalmos if you haven’t seen it already ^.^

Friday, April 10th, 2015

So, I’ve completed one part of the new project I’ve started, “Poems, Lyrics, Psalmos.”  I chose the word Psalmos because it doesn’t always mean a poetic work from the Bible.

The poem Hunger is the first of several new works that I’m in the process of completing. I’m really excited about this because my Muse has been riding me pretty hard. All of my poetic works are experience driven – and so I hope that you’ll enjoy each one as I post them up.

Please go check it out! If you like it, hate it, don’t much care for it at all – feel free to leave a comment and let me know ^.^
