Sea Wurm
Pitter patter
Little prints of feet upon the sea
Running, scurrying to and fro
With a look of malicious glee
Seeking above turgid waves
At the fish gone by
Ducking low beneath the foam
Beneath the darkened sky
Opening a tooth-filled maw
Endeavoring to roar
Frightening innocent passersby
On the far-by shore
Oh, what wet and dripping glisten
Those scales of innocent terror
Oh, that pungent seaweed breath
Of that sea-wurm’s lair
So, watch that giant of the waves
Streak past in silver glory
And mind that terror of the sea
Thou sailor bold and hoary
