Or, at least, those of you who choose to visit me occasionally ^.^
I have finally, officially, begun edits on Dragon Kin, which is the second book of The Dragon Throne trilogy… Did I already mention that this was going to be a trilogy? No? I can’t remember…
Dragon Kin is complete at 54,000+ words. I have completed the very first rough draft edits on the first few chapters, and I’m in the process of submitting the manuscript to an editing workshop: InternetWritingWorkshop.org
I’m not certain if it will stay at 54k words as I have removed some words and added some words, and I’ve NO idea what the finished edits word count will be. But for now, 54k.
I will also begin basic edits on The Dragon Throne which is complete at 67,481 words. This word count is also likely to change through the editing process.
I’ve had emails from various readers who have requested an update on when the sequel to The Dragon’s Call would be published. I had, at first considered completing all edits and rewrites on the sequel and publishing it as one book – but at 121,403 words and the possibility that words would be added with additional edits, not only was this just not possible – it would increase the wait time until publication.
So, a trilogy instead of a duology.
And factoring in the amount of time edits, submissions to editors, beta readers, rewrites – barring any catastrophes (for some reason, I have ample amounts of these in my life) the editing process on Dragon Kin should be done before this year is over.
On the far end.
Wish me luck.
